Emma is an experienced staff nurse that graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2012. Since qualifying she has gained further qualifications in Healthcare Mentorship at the University of Hertfordshire and Tissue Viability at Kings College London.
Emma has worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) Stanmore where she gained experience in areas including the acute and rehabilitation phases of spinal cord injury, spinal surgery, general orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery and infection control. Emma then went on to work in a nurse-led Plastic Dressing Clinic at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital which consisted of her providing support and wound care for patients following hand surgery, soft tissue reconstruction for trauma, in addition to elective and semi-elective reconstruction.
Since joining the team Emma has worked alongside Mr Moyes on a daily basis in clinic, completing the pre-assessment process for all of his patients, offering support throughout the pre and post-operative period and providing post-operative wound care. Emma’s specialist interests include trauma & orthopaedics, complex wound management and analysing the holistic factors that can influence wound healing.
In 2017 Emma spent time volunteering in Kenya on a Healthcare Outreach Programme to help run free community clinics and deliver essential medical care and treatments across rural locations where access to this treatment would otherwise not exist.
