Paolo Consi, a trauma and orthopaedic surgeon fellow at the Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine clinic

Paolo is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow injuries and complex trauma and limb reconstruction surgery. He is particularly interested in arthroscopic and arthroplasty surgery, deformity corrections, complex trauma, non-unions and osteomyelitis.

He started his medical career in Italy but moved to the UK in 2013 to specialize in upper limb surgery and trauma.

He completed an upper limb fellowship at the Rowley Bristow Unit (Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS FT), a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Reading Shoulder Unit (Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS FT) and a complex trauma and limb reconstruction fellowship in a level I Major Trauma Centre (St George’s University Hospital NHS FT). He was also selected by the AO trauma foundation to complete an international travelling trauma fellowship in a level I Major Trauma Centre (Kantonsspital Graubünden KSGR, Chur) in Switzerland. He is annually invited to the “Teach the Teachers” Advanced Cadaveric Elbow Surgical Skills Course at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, USA) and he is member of several national and international shoulder and elbow and trauma associations. He published numerous scientific papers in peer reviewed journals as well as numerus book chapters; he enjoys presenting his projects at national and international meetings and he has been a faculty member on various orthopaedic courses.

He worked as a locum upper limb consultant at the London North West Healthcare NHS FT and is currently Arthrex research fellow at the Wellington Hospital (HCA Healthcare)
