Wayne Rooney is to miss a further five weeks of play at Manchester United due to an ongoing injury, according to the BBC.The footballer, who signed a new five-year deal to remain at Old Trafford last month, is currently nursing an ankle injury which he picked up in training on 19th October.

‘Ankle injuries of this kind tend to have a 3 month recovery period,’ explains Simon. ‘If it is the same one Rooney suffered before the World Cup [a ligament injury or sprain], then it is most unusual for him to still be suffering with it at this stage.’
