Sports Medicine Physician
Rick is a consultant in sport & exercise medicine (SEM), specialising in all musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
He is an honorary physician at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He qualified in medicine from Guy’s, King’s College & St Thomas’ Hospitals (GKT) Medical School in 1999. Rick has been listed on the General Medical Council’s specialist register since 2011 and is a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine- FFSEM (UK). He trained in various UK teaching hospitals and worked in the NHS for 12 years. Rick is an accredited musculoskeletal sonographer. As a junior doctor, SHO training posts include the Oxford John Radcliffe, Hammersmith, Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals.
Rick subsequently completed the London Deanery SEM specialist registrar rotation and worked an extra year as a senior registrar. Specialist registrar postings include the Royal London, Whittington, University College, Homerton, St Mary’s and Charing Cross Hospitals; Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) Stanmore and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Headley Court. Rick has an interest in medical education and is an accredited member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd).
